This actress, who began her acting career in supporting roles, became well-known when she had a pivotal role on “Little House on the Prairie.” Her fans realized that her performance was what made her deserving of the numerous nominations she garnered for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
Anderson said, “I’m lucky that there was even a character to play, because in the book, there isn’t much of one,” in an interview with Pop Entertainment in 2010 regarding her experience filming the drama that shot her to prominence. Laura [Ingalls] was a much older woman when she wrote the Little House novels, which formed the basis for the television series and the story’s central focus. She was thinking back on her best experiences. Ma and Mary’s characteristics didn’t determine much. around was lots of Laura, Pa, Jack the dog, and Mr. Edwards, but Mary wasn’t around as much. Their realization that I could take action is a blessing.
She tried a variety of odd occupations after Mary Ingalls until getting married to television producer Michael Sloan in 1990. In 2002, the couple, along with their daughter Piper and two children, Griffin and Piper, relocated to Montreal.

In an interview with E-Talk, Anderson said, “I really stepped away for a long time.” That was mainly for the kids, so they would have their own identity and not hang around with me.
Anderson did not completely give up acting either; he has taken on a few small roles recently. Her life-changing experience as a cast member of television productions like “Little House on the Prairie” served as the impetus for her memoir, The Way I See It: A Look Back at My Life on Little House.
