Should one win the lotto, how would one proceed? Many of us have grandiose ideas of what we would buy with the money, such as a brand-new automobile or home. However, one Massachusetts man who loved animals and won millions of dollars from a scratch-off was quick to donate his winnings to animals that were in need.
A local retailer sold an instant ticket game for the Massachusetts State Lottery called “100X Cash” to Paul Riley, an animal enthusiast from Peabody, Massachusetts. According to a news release, he was thrilled to learn that he had won the $4 million prize in the game after scratching it off.
Paul arrived to pick up his award, escorted by his cute little dog Raven:
Paul was asked how he intended to use the money, and he responded generously. He disclosed that he will give the Animal Rescue League a portion of his profits. Seeing people give generously of their wealth, especially to support animals in need, is uplifting. Naturally, Paul plans to use a portion of the funds to pamper himself and his loved ones. He said he was going to get his wife a new automobile.
Paul decided to accept a $2,600,000 lump sum payout (before taxes). The retailer from whence he purchased the fortunate scratch-off, Summit Variety, will also get a bonus of $40,000.
We would like to congratulate Paul on his amazing lottery victory and express our sincere gratitude for his decision to support shelter animals. Spread the word about this wonderful news!
